Obituary of Joan C. Permatteo

Joan C. Permatteo; 72 LIBERTY, ME – Joan C. (Miller) Permatteo, 72, passed away Sunday, May 22, at her home on Cargill Pond in Liberty. Joan was a former resident of Fitchburg and Leominster. She grew up in North Vassalboro, ME, the daughter of the late Linwood and Elva Miller. She graduated from Winslow High School and attended Boston University. She was employed previously at the Herbert Lipton Center in Fitchburg and the Maine CareerCenter in Rockland, ME. Joan loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed gardening in her yard at ‘Moose Point’. An avid reader and a dedicated fan of the Boston Red Sox, she will be missed by all who knew her, especially by her close neighbors, Maureen and Tom. Joan leaves her 3 children, Sara Melanson-Paine of Leominster, Jason Permatteo of Leominster and Michael Permatteo of Northborough; and 7 grandchildren, Ryan, Nathan, Camden, Andrew, Mireille, Olivia and Gabriella. She was predeceased by her former husband, Joseph R. Permatteo. Joan's family will receive friends and family at a celebration of life to be held on Fri., June 3, at 10:00 A.M. at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 26 West St. in Leominster, MA.
