Obituary of Syria L. Martin

Syria L. Martin, 41, of Pittston, gained her wings on August 6, 2019, in Portland. She was born in Poway, California on May 29,1978. The daughter of Vicki Owens and Gary Martin, granddaughter of Robert and Nancy Lahaye of San Marcos, California. She attended Mt.View High school in Thorndike. She later went on to pursue her education and career in cosmetology by attending Empire Beauty School in Waterville. Syria enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, she loved to laugh and loved to make people laugh. Syria was a very bright and bold woman, she had a passion for doing hair and makeup. She was an animal lover and enjoyed spending time with her puppy Mick and her two cats. But above all was her love for her children Ryan and Makayla, her pride and joy. Syria is predeceased by her grandfather Bill Owens. Syria is survived by her daughter Makayla Peavey of Stockton Springs, her son Ryan Peavey of Searsmont, her spouse Brent Keller of Pittston, her sister Belynda Barton Bury and her husband Duane Bury of Vancouver, WA. Her niece and nephew Anya Diaz and Luis Diaz, her grandparents Robert and Nancy Lahaye of San Marcos, CA, an aunt Julie Owens and her two children Joe Mcrink and Wesley Barlow. Her mammie Annette Ames of Searsmont, her best friends/sisters Janet Moore and Chayann Colby, her special friend Matthew Hitchcock, and many nieces and nephews.
