Obituary of Arthur A. Butler

ARTHUR A. BUTLER JR., 76, passed away June 20th at his residence in Brooks. He was born in Knox March 19, 1943 to the late Arthur and Evelyn (Fenlason) Butler Sr. Arthur loved to bet on the "ponies". He enjoyed camping and watching bull riding. He was an avid reader who loved spending time with his grand-kids and great-grandson. He was very active in his community serving as first selectman in Brooks and EMA Director as well as the 911 Addressing Officer. Arthur worked as the sexton for the cemeteries in Brooks. He volunteered with Search and Rescue and Brooks fire department. He served 35 years as an EMT for Brooks Ambulance as well. Arthur was predeceased by his parents and sister Fenalyn (Robertson) Jameson. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Catherine Butler of Brooks; his daughters, Cynthia Coble and husband Richard of Brooks and Sonja Richardson and Fiancé Scott of Montville; sister Bertha Butler of Madawaska; his grandchildren Catherine Richardson and her Fiancé Patric Skigen of Bangor, Heather Larrabee and husband Kenneth of Knox; great-grandson Kaiden Larrabee of Knox. Memorial services will be held at Brooks Congregational Church on Friday June 28, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Kinney Cemetery in Brooks. Family and friends are invited to a reception following at Varney Building. Those who wish may make donations in Arthur's memory to Brooks Fire Department, P.O.
