Obituary of Marilyn V Cook

Marilyn P. Cook passed away peacefully following a long illness, surrounded by her loved ones on May 1, 2019, at her home. She was born on December 12, 1937, the daughter of Frank and Marguerite (Porter) Patterson. Marilyn married Robert L. Cook on June 16, 1956 in Belfast, Maine. They celebrated their 62 years of marriage last June. Marilyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was the heart of her home as her children grew up – a talented cook, homemaker and seamstress. She also served as a Girl Scout leader and Room Mother while her children were in school. She had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and worshipped with a Bible Study group of friends and neighbors for many years prior to her illness. She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Cook of Morrill; daughters, Valerie and her husband Chip Spaulding of Swanville and Robin and her husband Michael Chaples of Morrill; Two grandsons, Adam Chaples of Morrill and Jeffrey Spaulding and wife Emily Allen of Swanville; two granddaughters Megin Chaples of Morrill and Kimberly Spaulding and husband Nathan Sigworth of Swanville; five great grandchildren: Natalie Curry of Morrill and Ella Spaulding, Siena Spaulding, Mia Sigworth and Luci Sigworth all of Swanville. She is also survived by two sisters, Gari Patterson Oxton of Northport and Beverly Patterson Grant of Belfast, and one brother, Frank Patterson also from Belfast. She was predeceased by her sister, Gail Patterson. A graveside service of remembrance is scheduled at Grove Cemetery, Belfast on Sunday May 5, 2019 at 2:00 PM.
