Obituary of Violet M Hanson

BROOKS - Violet M. Hanson, 82, of Brooks, went home to Heaven on Easter morning, April 21. She was born in Belfast on May 13, 1936 to the late Leland & Lillian (Ryder) Furbush. Violet was a lifetime member of Brooks Bible Church. She was a former CNA with home care in Waldo County and a long-time host of Cowan Cove Campground on Moosehead Lake. Violet was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Myron L. Hanson, her daughter, Dolores Robbins, and two brothers, George Furbush and Leland Furbush. Surviving are her sons, Melvin L. Ryder and his fiancée Irene of Belfast, Ted Ryder and his wife Darlene of Stockton Springs, John Ryder and his wife Vicki of Florida, George Ryder and his wife Regina of Brooks, and Randy Hanson and his fiancée Meg of Jackson; her daughter Inez Smith and her husband Howard of Brooks; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; her brothers Norman Furbush of Belfast and Edwin D. Furbush and his wife Caro of Northport; her sister Lily Clark of New York; sister-in-law Marie Furbush of Florida; brothers-in-law Hilton Hanson of Albion and Victor Hanson and his wife Mary of Augusta; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of loving friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at Brooks Bible Church. The family would like to thank Hospice of Maine Health for the wonderful care they provided to Violet. Memorial donations may be made in Violet's name to the American Heart Association or Brooks Bible Church.
