Obituary of Patricia J. Cook

Patricia Jean (Horton) Cook, 66 of Waldo passed away on March 28, 2019 at EMMC in Bangor surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on July 31, 1952 in Glendive, Montana the daughter of Richard and Jean (Cupper) Horton. Pat was the most loving, sensitive and compassionate woman that embraced life to its fullest. Her life motto was "this to shall pass," and Pat had a wonderful sense of humor. She had to due to raising four obnoxious teenagers Doug, Beth, Donna and Richard. The family traveled the world including Germany, Southern, Midwestern and Eastern parts of the United States. Pat was the wife of a Vietnam Veteran, while raising two daughters and a son. Her marriage consisted of 51 years of unconditional love, dedication and devotion. She is predeceased by her parents and siblings David, Cindy, and Kevin. Pat is survived by her loving husband Henry M. Cook Jr. (SFC Ret.)of Belfast; her daughter Elizabeth L. (Cook) Benner and husband Tom of Swanville and her five children Shannon, Robert, Carl, Johanna and Zachary, and 11 great grandchildren from Elizabeth; daughter Donna L. (Cook) Wenz and fiance Butch Ward of Swanville; Donna's three children Scott, Amber, Justin, and eight great grandchildren from Donna; her son Richard A. Cook of Waldo and his ex-wife Diana Gorman of Knox and their seven children Kaleb, Gregory, Bryton, Savannah, Jillian, Gabrielle, Clint, and six great grandchildren from Richard; her sister Cheryl and husband Arthur Bragdon along with their children; her brother who she took in and raised as her own son Douglas Allen Horton and his wife Tina and their children Samantha, Alonia (with Alonia's three children) and Christina; grandson Gregory Cook whom she raised. Pat would love to have mentioned Robert Watt as a valued family member along with his children; as well as many niece's and nephews in her journey of life. Pat's most cherished friends that she adored and loved are Trudy Weber formerly of Germany now of Colorado, and Doris Dodge of Jackson Maine. To these your love and friendship was cherished and may your hearts be mended by the grace of God. Pat is remembered for her enjoyment of casino hopping and playing bingo. She enjoyed her ability to crochet and knit, this was art to her. Pat was a gift to all who received her love.
