Obituary of Edward John Gworek

EDWARD J. GWOREK July 9, 1948 – March 12, 2019 Ed Gworek of Stockton Springs, (pictured on left) departed this world on March 12, 2019, after spending a happy evening with his son. Born to proud Polish parents in New Britain, Connecticut, he developed a life-long taste for the finest kielbasa. A dedicated lover of animals, Ed enjoyed pampering his dog, who was his constant companion. A committed hippie and flower child, Ed remained in touch with friends from his youth, including Zeta Psi brothers, throughout his life. Ed was obsessive about his flowers and vegetables, and as a gardener he was outstanding in his field. He loved playing his guitar, despite having no idea how to actually play guitar. Generous to a fault, Ed will be remembered as one who would give away the shirt off his back and who consistently put the comfort of his friends and loved ones above his own. Ed was a devoted father and enjoyed a close and loving relationship with his son Ben, who survives him. Ed is also survived by his brothers Paul Gworek of Daytona Beach, FL, and Ronald Gworek of Fremont, CA. Private family services will be held. Donations honoring Ed’s memory may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
