Sharon Airth (Hall) posted a condolence
Saturday, August 1, 2020
My name is Sharon Airth (Hall). I saw a student of hers in third and seventh grade. I have wanted to get in touch with Mrs. Way for many years. I wanted to tell her how much she inspired me to read. In third grade she would read out loud to the class. One story was "Charlottes Web". A few years ago at a yard sale I came across an edition and purchased it with her on my mind again. I wanted to thank her for that. There are other memories, but that one is the strongest. I just found out of her passing. I was so close to finding her. I would love her family to know she has and will continue to be with me. Till we meet again Mrs. Way. You hold a special place in my heart.. Thank you, Sharon Airth

I worked as an Occupational Therapist in Sandra's school for a few years, and would on occasion have a student to see in her class. At those times I was always so impressed by her gentle, kind, and patient manner with her students, and the positive effect she would have on students and staff alike. She will always stand out in my mind as one of the very best teachers I have encountered .

I was a Teachers Aide in the Searsmont Elementary School when Sandra was a teacher there. She was so pleasant to work with and we always had a good conversation at Home Supply. She was a keeper type teacher. Vivian Fuller

Mrs. Way was my 7th grade teacher at the Searsmont School in 1975/1976. She inspired and challenged me and I will always be grateful. I was an outsider oddball of a kid who came to Maine only a few years before - Mrs Way recognized what I needed as a student and provided it. We read Moby Dick together for example having chats about it at her desk during what would have been her free time. She managed the classroom with rigor and love. She was tough and caring. I have always remembered Mrs Way with gratitude as one of the people who powerfully influenced who I was to become. She saw me and for that I will always be grateful.

Sandra taught my children at the Searsmont school. She had a unique sense of humor and always shared a good joke or a wry political comment when we would meet at Home Supply. I am grateful to have been acquainted with her. Lisa Kushner .
