Obituary of Charles Greever
Charles “Chuck” Greever, 64 of Searsport, Me. and Shenandoah, Iowa was dispatched to his final run on February 18, 2019 he left Belfast, Maine and pulled through the gates of Heaven at 7:10 pm, delivering the most precious cargo of his trucking career, his soul. He was born on August 10, 1954 in Maryville, MO the son of Glen and Patty Jo (Asher) Greever. Upon arrival, Jesus stamped his bill of lading and said, “well done thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord.”
Chuck grew up and lived most of his life in southwest Iowa, attending college in Tarkio, MO on a football scholarship. He played football, basketball, baseball and ran track in high school, and remained an avid sports fan forever. During his trucking career of over 40 years, he met, fell in love with, and married another trucker and the love of his life, Sue Koch of Searsport, Maine. Chuck and Sue made their home on Shenandoah, Iowa and continued trucking, logging nearly two million miles together, traveling border to border and ocean to ocean. Upon retiring they wintered in Maine. Chuck was a very proud dad, who loved his sons dearly.
Those who met him as he pulled into his final rest stop include his parents, brother Steve, and father and mother in law Bill and Ada Koch.
Those left with Chuck sized holes in their hearts include his adored and loving wife; sons Kasey and wife Alexis, Jeremy and wife Lindsey, Andy and wife Liz, and David Greever; grandchildren Jeremiah, Isaiah, and Charlotte Greever; brothers Mike and wife Sue, Phillip and wife Barb; sister Sherry Powers and husband Larry; sister in law Alice Greever all of Iowa; brother and sister in laws John Koch and wife Pam, Arthur Koch and wife Silvia, and Mary Ginn all of Maine; many nieces and nephews all of whom were special to “Uncle Chuck”; a huge brotherhood of supportive trucker buddies from coast to coast, and many treasured friends.

There will be a service in Iowa on April 20th at 2 pm with a time of gathering from 1 to 2 pm at the First Baptist Church in Shenandoah, Iowa.
