Obituary of Robert Whitney Walsh

Robert Whitney Walsh, 79, passed away on November 30, 2018 at his home in Swanville. Robert was born on March 26, 1939 in Weymouth Massachusetts to the late Otis and Alice Walsh. Through his life he had several occupations starting as a logger over the road truck driver. His favorite job was entertaining people with his band Nutones of Country. He was a lifetime founding member of the CMMA, MCMA and was recognized for Maine Entertainer of The Year. He had performed with people such as Dick Curless, Buck Owens and Conway Twitty along with Hall Lone Pine. Robert was predeceased by his parents; his four siblings, his loving wife Jean Walsh and his beloved youngest daughter Kimberly Tyler. Surviving are his dear daughters and sons-in-law, Roberta and Dana Herbest, Tanya and Dennis Roberts, Wanda and Jon Pinkham and Andrea Walsh and her companion Kris Hilsgrove; his pseudo children, Renee and Ed Kohl and Dennis McIntyre; his beloved sweetheart of 26 years, Donna Nickerson; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his adored dog Emma and cat Fluffy. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday December 8, 2018 from 10 AM – 12 PM at the Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast ME 04915. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pope Memorial Animal Shelter in Thomaston. “We will miss his stories with animation, his facebook messages and most of all, him trying to sell us something.”
