Obituary of Lawrence E. Thompson

Lawrence "Larry" E. Thompson Larry was born to Nadine Thompson on April 7th, 1942 in Morrill, ME. He passed away on Oct. 19th 2018 just the way he wanted to, at home and living independently. Larry served in the US Air Force from Dec. 1959 thru Dec 1967. He started in the 42D Combat Defense Squad. He served in Morocco, at Loring Air Force Base here in Maine, Belgium and Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, finishing in the 862 Sec Police Squad. He spent several years in North Dakota driving a big rig throughout the Midwest and West Coast. He moved back to Maine in 1978. He worked for Maurice Pooler, drove truck for Delta Chemical and worked at East Side Garage until he retired. He was busier than ever in his retirement as he was the family mechanic and fix it person. If it had an engine he could fix it. He was always helping someone fix or build something. He loved classic cars and could often be found tinkering on them in his front yard. Larry is survived by his daughter Cristy and her partner Rick, son Jay and partner Lee. Larry had 4 grandchildren; Ben and his partner Mindy, Sara, Jamie and her husband Kevin and Kyle; 8 great grandchildren; Addy, Jensen, Sylas, Autumn, Dom, Tegan, Jace and Leighton. Larry is also survived by brothers, Edwin, Bobby, Richard, Timmy, Billy, Kenny and Blake; sisters Nancy, Tootie, Janice, Peggy, Carolyn, Phyllis, Juanita and Shelley. He is predeceased by his mother Nadine and stepfather Frank Brown, brother Raymond; sisters Maryann and Ginger. No services are planned at his request.
