Obituary of Doris B. Herbert

Doris B Herbert, 97, passed away October 13, 2018 in Belfast at Tall Pines. Doris was born in Morrill Maine at the Blood Homestead on August 25th, 1921to the late Arthur and Mabel Blood. She lived most of her life in Morrill, although she and her husband were snowbirds to their home in Zephyrhills Florida. Doris graduate from Crosby High School in 1940 and went on to Kennebec Valley Vocational and Tech Institute for her CNA diploma in 1976. She also was member of “The National Grange of the Patrons of Husbandry” for more than 25 continuous years. She assisted her husband in one of largest poultry farms in Maine for 30 plus a few years along as being an Waldo County Female Deputy and was very proud to be tax collector for the Town of Morrill. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 77 years, Howard Herbert her high school sweetheart; by son Danny Herbert, brother Arthur Blood, sisters Barbara Symes and Iva Jackson. Surviving are her son Dennis Herbert, her sister Florence Bidder and her grandchildren, Scott Herbert, Stephen Herbert, Joshua Herbert, and Roseanna Herbert and many great grandchildren and great-great children. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday October 20th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast ME. Her burial will take place privately in the Morrill Village Cemetery.
