Obituary of Ramona L. Wing

Ramona Wing (January 21, 1945-August 31, 2018) Ramona is an angel now. She passed away on August 31, 2018, surrounded by her loving family and friends. We know that she is in a far better place, without pain. She’s able to sing with God, like we know she wanted to. She has been reunited in happiness with those who went before her – her parents, her son Karmen, and all of the other angels who were blessed to know her. Ramona was beautiful, inside and out. She was a loving wife to Austin, her husband of 55 years, and a supportive mother to 5 adoring children, Ken, Lisa, Latisha, Kevin and Karmen. She loved God, her family and her friends. She was loving, strong, selfless, funny, compassionate, gracious, and accomplished. She spent her life caring for others, and always put others before herself. She made time to create special moments for her family; memories each of us will hold close to our hearts. Ramona was an incredible gift to all of us. She did so much good for so many people. We’ve loved hearing all of the stories about how she touched people’s lives. The outpouring has been incredible, but not surprising, as we hear story after story about how her kindness and prayer made a difference in the lives of so many. Ramona was born on January 21, 1945 and raised in Belfast, Maine. After high school, she went on to earn her social service degree, and for years advocated for, and cared for, others at Tall Pines nursing home and Midcoast Mental Health. After becoming a resident at Tall Pines, she served as the President of the Resident Council, a testament to her passion for caring for and bettering the lives of others in whatever capacity she was able. Ramona loved being creative, playing the guitar and singing, and making others laugh. She was an accomplished author, having written and published four books. She looked forward to her daily visits from her husband. She had a sparkle in her eye, cared with her whole heart, and made others around her laugh. She was amazing. Ramona is survived by her loving husband, Austin; four children, Ken, Lisa, Latisha, Kevin; and 6 grandchildren, Karmen, Tabitha, Dakota, Sabrina, Kaleb, and Alexandria; and two great grandchildren, Eli and Madylynn. She was predeceased by her father Woodrow Stevens, mother, Lucy Allen, and her son, Karmen Wing.
