Obituary of Iva G. McElravy

Iva G. McElravy, of Searsport, Maine, died August 12, 2018, at Waldo County General Hospital in the Hospice Unit. She was born Oct 1, 1940, to the late Valmore and Lorena (Pinkham) Bennett of Stockton Springs. She is survived by her Sister, Carlene Hinds of Stockton Springs and her brother, Guy Bennett and his wife, Louise, of Virginia. She is also survived by her two sons; Ricky Leeland Ashey and his wife Darlene of Gray and their two children, Stephen Sr. of Jackson and his son Stephen Jr., and Lydia of Biddeford. Her son Randolph Linwood Ashey and his fiancé Jill of Aspen, Colorado, and his son Griffin of Framingham, Mass. Iva was married to Terence Ashey for many years and then married to the (late) William McElravy. Iva graduated from Stockton Springs High School in 1958 and worked several different places including 23 years at Mathew Brothers. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Bill, including many trips to Hawaii and a trip to South Korea. She also enjoyed attending church, taking scenic rides and going out to eat. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 2:00 pm at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, 95 Court St., Belfast. A time of reminiscing and refreshments will follow at the Parish Hall, next door. In lieu of flowers, Iva requested a donation be made to St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church or W.C.G.H. Hospice Unit, 118 Northport Ave., Belfast, ME 04915.
