Wayne represented the best instincts of Belfast tradition - honor and service to country, loyalty to his friends and family, service to his community - and patriotism. He was representative of all things Maine - and once he determined you were sincere, he was an instant friend. His courage in battling illness should inspire us all, and remind us of the precious nature of life.
