Obituary of Rudolph E. Carroll
SEARSPORT – Rudolph (Rudy) E. Carroll, 57, passed away unexpectedly at home on June 27, 2018.
Rudy was born in Belfast, Maine on July 30, 1960 to Irene Suddy and Ross Carroll. He attended Searsport High School (’78) and the University of Maine, graduating in 1995 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Rudy worked as the Director of Information Technology and Engineering at Mathews Brothers for the past 14 years.
First and foremost, Rudy was a loving and caring father and husband. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing and baseball; often volunteering his time to help coach. Rudy was a lifelong learner who was always eager to gain new knowledge and share that knowledge with others. He was a hard worker who never shied away from a challenge and was willing to put in the time and effort required of any job. Rudy was a jack-of-all-trades and, as such, was always eager to lend a helping hand.
Rudy is survived by his father; his wife, Catherine Carroll (nee Merrithew); his children: son, Chris Carroll and wife Lisa, daughter, Lura Wade and husband David, daughter, Jessica Carroll and fiancée, Chris Murphy, and son, Alex Carroll; his grandchildren, Alison, Connor, and Kayden; and his siblings: brother, William Ross Carroll, and sisters, Kathryn Grindle and Dorothy Carroll. He was predeceased by his mother and his grandparents, Raymond and Beulah Carroll.
At his request, there will be no public service. A private celebration of life is currently being planned. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Northport Golf Club, PO Box 187, Belfast, ME 04915, for the benefit of the Youth Golf program.
