Obituary of Amber LaRochelle

Amber Darlene (Patten) LaRochelle, 60, of Landisville, Pa., passed away ever so unexpectedly, June 7, 2018, surrounded by her family in Belfast. Amber was born in Camden to Wylie and Madeline Patten on Oct. 15, 1957. She went to school in Belfast from grade school right through high school. She graduated from BAHS in 1976. Amber married David LaRochelle on May 1, 1976, in Belfast. Throughout her life she worked a variety of jobs including at Elmer’s Restaurant in Union, Senter Crane in Rockland, Dairy Queen in Belfast, as an EMT in Union, at Talbot House in Rockland, and various other positions within the medical field. Amber is predeceased by both her mother and father, Madeline and Wylie Patten, as well as her brother, Damon Patten. Amber is survived by her husband of 42 years, David LaRochelle; her sons: Matthew LaRochelle and wife Amy, and Justin LaRochelle and wife Jennifer; grandchildren: Amber, Haley, Nicholas and Heather; as well as many nieces and nephews. Amber was a beloved wife and loving mother. She was an amazing woman full of love, laughter, and compassion. She loved God and sharing His word with anyone with an eagerness to know more. If you ever knew Amber you know that she had a smile that could brighten any room and possessed a laugh that was contagious. She adored children and spending as much time as she possibly could surrounded by them. With this she volunteered countless hours with children at a local children’s ministry located in Belfast called Neighborhood House. Amber loved spending time with her husband, David. Throughout their many years of marriage they went on several mission trips and cruises. With David’s job they were offered some opportunities to temporarily relocate to New York as well as Hawaii. Memories that will last a lifetime. Amber adored her children and their children. She would spend as much time as possible with them, making memories that now they will cherish for a lifetime. Amber had many hobbies in life: scrapbooking, shopping, going to the beach, swimming, Facebooking, and last, but certainly not least, yard saleing. As the years progressed Amber struggled with some chronic illnesses and with that, chronic pain. She then lost the ability to do many of the things she loved. However, she attempted to make the best of the moments when she was experiencing a “Good Day.” Amber will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her. A memorial service is scheduled at Nealley's Corner Church in Hampden on Sunday, June 10, at 2 p.m. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, Belfast.
