My deepest sympathy to all who loved Vickie, and most especially to Alex, who was the love of her life. I worked with Vickie at The Republican Journal and, as an occasional substitute teacher, knew Alex from my classes over the years. Vickie was a warm, caring and giving friend and co-worker who lit up our office with her laughter. Alex's "Mama" looked forward to and carefully planned every visit with him, and he was in every way her dearest son. We missed her when she left for a wonderful opportunity in Rockland, but I was fortunate to have bumped into her recently and we "caught up." I will always remember Vickie's vibrancy, her robust sense of humor and her devotion to Alex. She left this life way too soon. May she rest in eternal peace. Carolyn Zachary Waldo, Maine
