Rest in peace, Gene. You were a great friend to Steve and I. You were one of the first people that I met when I moved to Maine from the south. You were a kind, funny and nice person. Not many would have tried to teach me how to light a wood stove. Oh, the soot that I left on your ceiling. After I had turned the ceiling nearly all black; you finally told me, "I don't think you are going to get this!" No, I never did. As you walk through the heavens, tell all those that have gone before that they have not been forgotten and are thought of often. May peace be with your family and friends.
