Obituary of Ronald W. Spencer

Ronald Wayne Spencer, 74 of Belmont, passed away on March 12, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born on August 21, 1943 to Lillo M. and Gladys (Bragdon) Spencer. He attended Crosby High School in Belfast and graduated in 1961. He joined the Maine National Guard in 1962 and received Honorable Discharge. Ronald joined the Masons in 1968 and is still current with them. He married Ruth Woods and they had one son, James R. Spencer. He held numerous jobs before starting to work for International Paper Mill in Bucksport. He had many positions during his 30 years. After his retirement he met Glenda Suit in 2001 and they shared a 17-year relationship. They lived in Colorado for 5 years and visited many Western States which included his trip to Alaska. He loved gardening, traveling, camping with his family up North, fishing, garage sales, antique auctions and old antique cars. He is survived by his son, James; grandchildren Jackie, James Jr., Travis; sisters Faye (Jorge), Rosemary (Doug), Jamia; Aunt Claudia; cousins Lorrie, Ruth Woods, Glenda Suit and many cousins. A memorial visitation will be held from 10-12 Saturday, March 24th at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.ripostafh.com.
