Obituary of Michael Jeffery Cole

Michael J. Cole Sr. of Thomaston, died of liver cancer on 3/8/18 at the Sussman House in Rockport. He was 59. Mike was born in Rockland on May 13, 1958. He was predeceased by his parents Carroll & Diana Cole. He was raised and educated in Rockland, one of eight children. Mike overcame many challenges in his life, including drug and alcohol addiction. He leaves this world clean and sober. He was forever grateful for his AA support family, and his family appreciates their support and encouragement over the years. AA gave him a chance to help others, and he loved the message. He never ended a day without saying "Life is good". Michael is survived by his son; Michael Jr. and his fiancé Anna Flynn, his daughter Myranda Cole, her husband Keith Bush and their children Walter and Vivienne; his brothers and their significant others, Paul (Carol), Herbert (Elizabeth), Donald (Laurie), Hollis, and Nelson (Kjerstin); his sisters, Judith (Stephen) Sawyer, Madelene (Thomas), as well as nieces, nephews and extended family. He developed a special bond with his Aunt Judy and Uncle Harry, Missy and his friends at Lucette. In the end, he did his very best. He loved the truly important people in his life, along with nature, music & open mic, creating art and laughter. Oh, and those clapping plastic hands... In memory of Mike, please stop and pick up that chunk of bark, pine, pine cone, or a piece of wood and know he's doing the same. Once the weather warms and permits, we plan to invite friends in joining his family for a celebratory cook out and music memorial. Life is Good.
