To “Big Mo”, the man who taught me more about humor and laughter in the face of life than anyone I have ever known. No one had a quicker wit or was faster with a comeback than him. I remember the first words we ever spoke to each other, I was a young kid in high school just starting in a job at night at Penobscot Frozen Foods. I wore glasses (still do) and it turns out Bruce was going to get them for the first time. He asked me if I needed my glasses, my answer came out “ yes, to see”. Bruce smiled, turned and walked away. After a few minutes I went to find him and tell him I didn’t mean to sound like a wise guy. He started laughing and said, “Of all the questions to ask! Like you just like carrying them around!” We shared a good laugh, and at that moment a friendship was born that was for keeps. A long time ago Bruce told me, “Never be afraid to laugh at yourself or you’ll miss half the funny stuff in your life”. Over the ten years we worked at the plant, I got to experience the laughter, sometimes about me and sometimes about him. He taught me to embrace it as he did. We really did enjoy scaring the daylights out of each other, although he was ahead by 1000 to one (that may be conservative). I have so many memories of laughing with Bruce, and even though we didn’t see each other as much after working at the plant, any time we did, it was the same. Thank you Bruce, for everything, I have and will always carry you with me. I will not say goodbye, just “ see ya in a bit”! To Doris, David, Dan, Julie, and your entire family, thank you for sharing this man, he was the best. My thoughts and prayers are with you, if there is anything I can do, I am in Lincolnville and I’m in the phone book. Love to you all. Mike “little mo”
