Obituary of Robert Llewellyn Babson

Robert Llewellyn Babson, 98, passed away December 19, 2017, in Brewer. He was born on Holbrook Island, Castine, Maine, to the late Charles L. and Nellie A. (Perkins) Babson. Robert was a master electrician, commercial fisherman, house painter and avid practical joker. He loved spending time with his family and being outdoors hunting, fishing, camping or hiking. Robert was predeceased by his first wife, Frances (Gross) Babson, in 1990, his second wife, Eva (Gray) Babson in 2017 and his grandson, Ryan Babson. Surviving are his children, Robert H. Babson, Jerold L. Babson and his partner, Sally Howard, Sandra B. Orcutt and husband, William, Larry D. Babson and wife, Irene, stepdaughters Dolores Rustin and Delight Colby. He also leaves behind his 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and several step-grandchildren. Per Robert’s request there will be no services. A private springtime memorial is being planned. Arrangements have been entrusted to Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast, Maine.
