Dear Louise, and family, forgive me if I tried to list all of you I would forget someone and there would be hurt feelings. Bob has touched all of us in so many ways. He always had time for a "chat". He loved his wife, children and grandchildren so very much. If you had the chance to observe him, looking at them, you could see the twinkle in his eyes. He always told them how proud he was of them and if they screwed up he would say so, and then have a suggestion of how they could fix it. He was always interested in what you were doing. He loved a good book, a roaring fire and a fine beer. He was happy to share his views on the best place to eat or grab a beer. I remember when he visited New York city one day with us we found a brewery on his list to visit. He was so thrilled. And yes he did have a buzz going back to Connecticut on the train. He and Louise always made their home open to all. There would always be friends of the kids, neighbors, and family just popping in and they were always glad to see you. Bob always said his last name was pronounced Cartier same as the famous jeweler, and he was a jewel or gem. We will miss him here on earth, and we will see him again in heaven. And when we do he will tell us the best clouds to hang out on. We love you Bob! Yve and Steve

Uncle bob growing up when ever i went to your house. You always had something to tinker with weather it was the go carts or your antique coke machine and the time you took us to the place where they made fishing lures or the fish hatchery. You were always full of knowledge and you could fix abything. You were one of the best uncles a guy could have.

Bob, if it wasn't for you letting a P.I.A. like me tag along on the weekends I wouldn't have had a lot of the experiences I did as a child. Thanks to the Cartier's I experienced my first sail boat ride, my first MRE (chicken and rice), first time camping in a camper, my first kyaking experience, first native American pow wow and most importantly my first best friend Jen. I look back and I am grateful that you gave me the experiences my family wasn't able to. Louise, Robert, Josh and Jen my sincerest condolences and love. Love, Oogly

I was lucky enough to work with Bob in Woonsocket as I was beginning my career and he was ending his. I will always remember the happy man who was excited to show me his *shop* and played Santa Claus for the little ones in our preschool. Heaven has gained another angel. So sorry for your loss. ~~~~ Linda Cooke Stanley
