Obituary of Carol L Coffin

Carol L. Coffin, 72, of Thorndike and Millinocket, passed away in Belfast on November 15, 2017. Carol was born October 16, 1945 to Lawrence and Delma (Steen) Coffin. Carol was a caring, compassionate lady who always placed others ahead of herself. She achieved much in her life, both professionally and personally, of which she was very proud. She proudly served the needs of patients at Millinocket Regional Hospital in many leadership and facilitating roles for 21 years, retiring as Public Affairs and Marketing Director. After retirement, she went back to work with the training and development corps, assisting displaced workers in three separate mills. She encouraged the men and women to expand their wide array of talents into the future, which helped many. Carol was a hospice volunteer for many years, assisting family and friends to cope with their loss. She also was a dedicated Rotarian and lived by the Rotary Four-Way Test. Her leadership skills made many Rotary projects successful and fulfilling for all involved. She served as Katahdin area Rotary Club President and Assistant Governor. She was recognized for her accomplishments and dedication many times receiving the Paul Harris Fellow award twice. She was my best friend and love of my life. Carol was predeceased by her parents and her sister Joan and brother-in-law George and their daughter Natalie. She is survived by her husband, Budd Tibbetts; brother Philip and sister-in-law Maria, brother-in-law Paul and sister-in-law Tina; brother-in-law Patrick and sister-in-law Susan; several nieces and nephews, a special nephew Bruce, niece Taylor and a great-niece Hannah, who always placed a big smile on Carol’s face. Donations may be made to Hospice Volunteers and Rotary International. A family and friends gathering will be held at our home Sunday November 26th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday November 27, 2017 with the Rev. Patrick Seymour officiating.
