Obituary of Johnny MacDonald

MONTVILLE JOHNNY L. MacDONALD, 64 of Montville, passed away October 12, 2017 in Belfast. He was born in Presque Isle on January 21, 1953 to Maxwell and Bertha (Boyles) MacDonald of Mapleton, Maine. His family moved to Appleton in the 60s to run an egg farm where the family worked together for many years. John attended Camden-Rockport High School. He worked as a carpenter and house painter as well as working with his family in their foundation business. He and Winona were married for 28 years and had two children, Benjamin and Robin. John built his family a home in Appleton with the help of his father and brothers where he lived most of his life. He loved gardening, woodworking, hosting barbecues, and spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. John also enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with family and friends and riding around on the dirt roads up north. Frequently John could be found at a local convenience store picking up a scratch ticket, coffee and some friendly conversation. He was predeceased by his mother, Bertha, and his grandparents, Bernard and Hilma Boyles. Survivors include his father, Maxwell MacDonald; son Benjamin MacDonald and wife Tiffeny of Montville; daughter Robin Pease and husband Michael of Appleton; his grandchildren, Danica and Hunter Pease; two brothers, Evan MacDonald and wife Gail of Appleton, Kirk MacDonald and wife Marilyn of Rockport; nephew, Adam MacDonald and nieces Kelly MacDonald and Allie MacDonald. Graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Appleton at 10 am. Sunday, October 22nd. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.ripostafh.com.
