Obituary of Clement L. Pope

Clement L. Pope, 91, of Belfast formerly of Salisbury, Mass. passed away on October 9, 2017 at home surrounded by family. Clem was born on September 22, 1926 in Newburyport, MA. the son of Chester and Josephine (LeBelle) Pope. He moved to Maine in 1983 and settled in Belfast. He was the co-owner of Discount paving. Clem enjoyed horse racing and was an avid Red Sox fan. His giving nature was evident in his generosity to many charities. He is predeceased by his parents; wife Ruth, and son Blackie. Clem is survived by his beloved children and step-children Clement L. Pope Jr. of California, Howie Pope of NH, James King of Farmington, Fred Cameron of Jackson, and Theresa Cameron of Belmont; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; several special nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and family are invited to visiting hours at Riposta Funeral Home 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast on Friday October 13, 2017 from 6-8 pm where a funeral service will be held on Saturday October 14, 2017 at 10 am.
