As I sit here still in shock over this I think back to all of our talks good and bad and how we both always fought for the last word-I’m sitting here with nothing to say for once..my heart is broken. You are nothing short of amazing and I wish I could tell you that one last time. I will forever be thankful for your friendship and no matter how bad we pissed each other off we still loved each other. Rest In Peace until we meet again ❤️

I have been sitting here all day thinking what to say about such a sweet man that touched the hearts of many. I will always remember being that out of town girl that walked into a bar and heard you singing...You smiled and we became instant friends... The walks , the talks...and how each conversion ended with I Heart you no matter how long it was we saw each other.. Miss you my friend.

I could probably pick one of a thousand memories to share from the last 20 years. Truth is, I'm just too heartbroken to think of any right now. I love you, Norton. I can't imagine this life without you in it.

"But soon enough you're gonna think of me And how I used to be...me." - Unwell by Matchbox Twenty--- You knew I loved this song and, without fail, you'd sing it every time we talked or saw each other. Never, ever did I think I'd look back on these words and feel haunted by them. Never, ever did I think I'd hear this song and break out in uncontrollable sobs. You were so loved. How desperately I wish I could turn the hands of time back and find some way to show you just how many people loved you. Often I wonder if I might have saved you; I'll forever beat myself up over that. You could belt out any song and it be literal perfection. Oh, my dear friend, how talented you were. Everyone who ever heard you sing/play walked away with that impression. You knew your audiences...you knew your crowds...and you performed for them, giving them just what they needed at those moments in time. Norton, you gave them the very best version of you. I wish more people had given you what you needed. I wish more had shown you their best version. Maybe the outcome would have been different. "Big wheels keep on turning Carry me home to see my kin..." - Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd--- Yours was always my favorite version; Skynyrd had nothing on you. The only comfort I have is knowing those wheels carried you home to arms that loved you and cherished you. Rich, you still own acreage in my heart. I miss you more than words can ever say. I'll never be the same again...
