Obituary of Ralph A. Littlefield

Ralph A. Littlefield, 91, passed away August 23, 2017 at Harbor Hill LTC in Belfast. Born in Avon Connecticut to the late George and Myra Littlefield, he spent most of his childhood in Belfast. Ralph was a WWII veteran. He joined the Navy in December of 1943 and served aboard The CVE 66 White Plains and later aboard the USS Tulagi which was an aircraft carrier. Ralph was married to his dear wife Rena for almost 70 years and together they raised six children, one of which was a niece. Ralph worked various jobs including road construction and carpentry. After retirement, he built and operated a shingle mill where he crafted high quality cedar shingles. He loved gardening and carpentry. Ralph and his wife enjoyed spending some winters in their Florida home. Ralph was predeceased by his loving wife Rena, son Barry Littlefield Sr., who passed away in 1992 and by all of his siblings. Surviving are his children, Ralph Littlefield Jr., and his wife Anne of Palermo, Rhonda Carlen and her husband David of Knox, Michael Littlefield and his wife Sandra of Charlotte and Heidi Gould and her husband Gary of Winterport; his 6 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, ME 04915 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Funeral service will take place on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 2:00 PM Morrill Baptist Church, 25 S. Main St., Morrill, ME 04952.
