Obituary of Christopher Jay McEvoy

Christopher J. McEvoy, 59, of Liberty Maine, won the battle on June 21, 2017. Chris was a funny, handsome, brilliant, giving man who collected music, books and movies. Beloved fiance of Nancy E. Soule of Liberty; proud Dad of two: champion and cheerleader of his cherished daughter Hannah McGuire of Old Town, chess and political debate partner and best friend of his treasured son Sean McEvoy of Orono. Chris was the son of the late Edward McEvoy of Soddy Daisy, TN, and Sara Aloisio of Ilion, NY, stepson of Christine McEvoy of Soddy Daisy, TN, biggest brother to ten sisters and brothers- Maureen (Ron) Webster, Anne (Lou) Andersen, Mary (Jolly) Bittick, Lisa (Walt) Bernier, James (Katrina) McEvoy, David McEvoy, Aimee (Walter) Cotto, Zachary McEvoy, Daniel (Courtney) McEvoy, and Kate (Brent) Edmondson, all of whom he adored, and who loved him more than any other biggest brother could have been loved. He was the best hugger in the world, a gentle giant. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, all who he could name by their place in the family line and so dearly loved, especially cousins John McEvoy and Michelle McEvoy, his partners in so many adventures in life. Please honor his memory by hugging your loved ones tight and telling them that you love them as many times a day as there are moments; or by spending time with family and friends who need someone to share the weight of their troubles or pain. He is floating free now with the incredible lightness of knowing just how much he was loved by us all. No formal services are planned, he's going home to his island, where he will be at peace under the sun, moon and stars that he loved so much.
