Obituary of Elizabeth Goguen

Elizabeth (Betty) C. Goguen, 92, of Brooks, formerly of Wrentham, Mass., passed away peacefully April 15, 2017, at Tall Pines Retirement Community in Belfast. She was born Jan. 28, 1925, to the late James and Laura E. (Gault) MacKenzie. She was the wife, for 57 years, to the late Edward Goguen, who passed away in 2007. Betty worked all her life at various businesses including Goguens General Store, the Salvation Army, head teller at Hancock Bank and in payroll at Whiting and Davis. She had a passion for sewing, quilting, cooking, knitting/crocheting and reading books. In her younger years she was an avid roller skater. She is survived by beloved son James A. Goguen and his wife Patricia, of Plainville, Mass. Also, Roland and Alan Goguen. Her grandsons: Jason A. Goguen and his wife Holly of Plainville, Mass., Derek James Goguen and his wife Elba of Paeonian Springs,Va., David Goguen of Belmont, and Edward James Goguen and his longtime companion Lindsay Bryant. Betty's great-grandchildren are Tyler Lawrence, Zachary Lee, Alexis Marie and Anna Elizabeth. Betty will be missed dearly by all, including her nieces Bonnie, Karen and Laura. Graveside services will be held Friday, April 28, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Brighton, Mass.
