It was my pleasure to be a part of the "Widow's and Orphan's Society", a group of "mature" women and occasional men who would enjoy lunch following Sunday Services. We would meet at a local restaurant (most often this was the Dockside Family Restaurant). We would talk, laugh and review the latest news at First Church as well as Local goings on. Politics was always fair game!! If we didn't know what to order "Kim" would offer options from our known menu preferences. Betty loved to order the Cranberry Chicken Salad on a ciabatta or as Betty called it "Funny Bread". A couple of years ago, Betty hosted us at her cottage on Beach Hill Road and lovingly prepared Hot dogs chips and Little Debbie Snack cakes! I loved visiting Betty and listening to her humorous anecdotes! I will miss you Betty. You always had a smile and love to give. And your hotdogs were the best!!!! Carl

Betty was my very first church buddy. It was a hot July day when I first visited First Church a few years ago and I was blessed to sit next to her. We connected immediately. I loved her humor, her precious smile, her dedication to the church , her hugs. and the giggles we shared. I will keep you, her family, in my prayers. She spoke of you often in love. I will miss her a lot.
