Obituary of Charlene R. Dodge

SEARSMONT CHARLENE R. DODGE, passed away March 21, 2017 in Belfast. She was born in Thomaston, Maine and adopted by Charles R. McAuliffe Jr. and Faire Mildred Kuhn on November 2, 1938. Charlene grew up in Rockland, Maine, graduating from Rockland High School in 1957, moving out of state for a few years and came back to Rockland and met and married Edward Dodge in 1965. They lived in Thomaston and Rockland and in 1971 moved to Searsmont, Maine where she remained until her passing. She loved to go bowling and was on two different leagues at U-Otta-Bowl in Belfast. Charlene was an avid dancer who liked to go on long walks with her dog. She had a passion for the birds never missing their daily feedings. She was a great cook and was always making delicious pies and cakes. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Gerry White and Diane Giles. She leaves behind her husband, Edward Dodge; her daughter Stephanie Fuller and husband Donald and their son Jeffery; her son Michael Dodge and wife Cathy Jo and Michael’s son Travis; her step-mother Edna Eaton and half-sister Gail McAuliffe. A graveside burial will be announced in the spring at Maple Grove Cemetery on Islesboro. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
