Obituary of Judith A. Schmiz

Judith A. Haber-Metcalf Schmiz, 72, of Searsmont, passed away February 20, 2017. She was born in Rockland on September 23, 1944. Judith was raised in New York and Belmont, Maine by Dorothy (Lowe) and Theodore Haber, Sr., one of nine children. Judy loved bird watching and her adorable dog. She worked as a volunteer for Johanna’s Threads and Bare Essentials in Belfast. Judy was predeceased by her parents. She leaves behind her husband, Francis Schmiz, whom she’s been with for 35 years; sons Troy Trout of Swanville and Kenneth Trout and his wife Barbara, of Texas; granddaughter Tina; sisters Darlene, Cheryl and Karen Haber; brothers Ted, Paul, Bruce and Kevin Haber, brother Larry Metcalf; many nieces and nephews, and her best friend Rena. A private service was held at the Abundent Grace Ministries of Searsmont, officiated by Pastor Peter Shef.
