I knew Jerry from his "boiler room" days at the Unified Arts Building , Brookline HIgh School, where I taught art and woodworking. Jerry was the "go to guy" when it came to technical problem solving, deer hunting & the best places to eat sea food near Belfast when my wife & I traveled on to Bucksport where we have a camp. Jerry's imposing physical size belied a sensitive soul and good heart. I'm sorry to hear of his passing which I read in this week's Brookline TAB. Sincerely, Myron Tupa

I knew Jerry through the Brookline Public Schools. I worked at the Edward Devotion School and I lived directly behind the steam plant at the High School. In those settings I always felt like Jerry was looking out for both the best interests of the Town and for me. Not that there was any conflict necessarily. But he just had his eye out for the right way to engineer things. He was a good man. I enjoyed it when he was working at some problem at Devotion and would check in. A little chit chat and a lot of good vibes. Knowing that changes at the steam plant might affect my quality of life, he took care to make sure I was okay with what was going on. He didn't have to do that. I'm sorry I just learned of his death today (2/9/17) and was not able to pay my respects on February 4th. My sympathy goes out to Morgan and Amillia.

It was my pleasure to know and to Love Jerry for more than 5 years. I found him to be a very honest man proud of those he loved. He loved the Lord, his home in Mass and his home in Maine. The sea shore was his favorite place to be. I spent many hours sharing that shore frontage with him. Jerry ate a lot of meals at that water front His favorite statement was "why sit in a restaurant and look at paintings on a wall" He would sweep his hand out from side to side of the ocean in front of him, "why do that when you can eat and watch the real thing.?" I will love and miss him forever.
