Obituary of Shirley M Porter

Shirley M. Porter – The Lord took another angel home on Jan. 14, 2017. Shirley Porter, 75, of Belfast, passed away peacefully at home. She was holding the hands of her sister and best friend, Joan Ash and a very special cousin, Madeline Sullivan. Shirley was born in Belfast on March 6, 1941 to the late Lloyd and Priscilla (Stevens) Webber. She was a member of Belfast United Methodist Church where she enjoyed volunteering and attending many church functions. Shirley loved her animals, shopping and cooking – especially baking sweets! She was predeceased by her husband, Carroll Porter, Sr. in 2007; her siblings: Dallas Webber, Raymond Webber, Beverly Suddy, Loraine Webber and Brenda Hutchinson. Shirley is survived by her four children: Roland Ladd and his wife Kim, of Brooks, Melonie Ladd of Florida, Shawn Ladd of Tennessee and Donald Ladd of Florida; her siblings Joan Ash and husband Walter of Belfast, Eugene Webber and wife Barbara of Arizona, Sandra Johnson and husband Jimmy of Belfast; as well as many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Auntie Shirley adored her great-nephew and great-nieces, Brody and Baylee Ash of Northport and Kylie Snider of Texas, often referring to them as her “grandbabies” – she was a second grammie to them all. She was there for the welcoming home party for Kylie and the birth of Brody and Baylee. She spent every chance she could with them, never missing a birthday party, outing or day to spend with them. She will be greatly missed by all. At her request, there will be no service.
