I can't believe that it has been almost 5 years since Julie transitioned. She was more than a friend to me. She was incredibly giving. I just looked at a magnet she sent me years ago. It was one of those refrigerator magnets that a tourist may have purchased at the airport. But, it meant a lot to me. Then, another time, my computer died and I told her we would have to communicate by phone more. A couple of days later, FedEx delivered an extra computer she had. I never forget her spirit of optimism, even she was having to undergo the infusions that sometimes left her weak. I will never forget my friend.
