Obituary of Donna Moores

Rockland - ROCKLAND - Donna Madelyn (Bowker) Moores, 88, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2016 at a Rockland healthcare facility after a long period of declining health. Donna was born on December 9, 1928 in Lincoln, Maine, the daughter of Leo and Doris (Mosher) Bowker. She grew up in Carroll Plantation and graduated from Lee Academy in 1945 and attended Husson College (then known as Maine School of Commerce). 0n November 23, 1949 she married Francis L. Moores, and the following year they moved to Anchorage, Alaska where they lived and where their daughter Katherine was born. They moved back to Maine in 1963 where they resided in Etna until moving to Orlando Florida in 1978. They returned to Maine in 1999. After her husband's death, she moved to Rockland to be closer to her daughter. Donna spent most of her working life as a bookkeeper. She worked for many years at Clendenning Oil in Hampden and then in Orlando, Florida for Braun Cadillac. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Francis in 2005. She is survived by her daughter Katherine Moores and husband Thomas Tedeschi of Rockland, Maine, grandson Nicholas Krakoff of Pittsburgh, PA, sister, Mary Twitchell and her husband James of Greenbush, ME, two sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Knox Center for Long Term Care in Rockland and Beacon Hospice of Bangor for their wonderful care and support. A private graveside service will be held in the spring at Lindsay Cemetery, Carroll.
