Obituary of James Buss
James Buss, 91, of Monroe, passed away on November 10th at home. A military funeral will be held at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta at 1 PM Thursday the 17th.
My Dad was born in Chicopee, Massachusetts to Charles and Ruth Buss on 12/31/24 and was raised in Lincoln, Vermont. He married Marian Burleson Lathrop on June 8, 1945 in Baltimore Maryland. Dad was a War World II veteran and served in the Navy for 26 years. After retirement he served as an officer at the Maine Maritime Academy. He was a dedicated member of the Masons, DeMolay and the Shriners.
Dad was preceded by his son and my brother, James (Skippy) Buss.
He is survived by his wife, Marian, of 70 years, his daughters Linda Davis and Julie Baerenrodt, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Hospice, Monroe Community Church, friends and neighbors for their care, assistance and support.
Pop, I hope I told you I loved you enough because now you’ve weighed anchor as you’ve done so many times before. This time, however, you’ll be in Homeport waiting on us.
