Obituary of Raymond John Ingles

RAYMOND JOHN INGLES passed away October 13, 2016 at a Bangor Health care facility. He was born in Northport, Maine on March 27, 1927 the son of Mervin Ingles and Clarissa (Webb) Ingles. He was a local longshoreman and independent woods contractor. On November 17, 1945 he married Helen Friss of Hudson, New York. Together they lived many years on Cedar Street in Belfast before self-building in the late 1970's a home on Swan Lake. Raymond was known for his strong opinions and independent ways. He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Robert and Mary Anne (Willette) Ingles of Bangor; his grandson Matthew Ingles and wife Martha (Hurlbert) Ingles of East Rochester, NH and his granddaughter Laura E. Ingles of Bangor, as well as nephews Arthur Abbot and wife Joanne of Belfast, Raymond Abbott and wife Pam of Pasadena, Maryland and Richard Finkle of Hudson, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, wife Helen and sisters Caroline Ingles Abbott and Rita Ingles Finkle. Interment will be held at 1 pm on October 26 at Smart Cemetery. A gathering will be held following the service, at the Hutchinson Center in Belfast.
