I wished I had known about Eileen's funeral ahead of time so I could have attended. I just read about it in the Republican Journal. I shall miss her so much. I am an AID member at Waldo County General Hospital, but also a member at Senior College. As the Past Chair of the Senior College Festival of Arts, Eileen, Fran and Jean were my "go to gals" I could always count on to run the reception and have everything go smoothly and elegantly. One time after everything was cleaned up and we were ready to go home, I was horrified when her shopping bag broke and her things fell on the floor. The silver was undamaged, but one of her antique Danish plates form Copenhagen broke. She brushed it off, but I knew she was upset. Later that summer I had an occassion to find a lovely antique one that I gave to her to try and replace her beautiful plate. It was no where near the sentimental value, of what it was replacing, but we both cried over the thought. My mother-in-law was Danish and I know how she treasured her plates. She was always so friendly, helpful and very much the gracious lady. Still love her. Sincerely, Dorothy Alling mdalling@myfairpoint.net
