Obituary of Wesley L. Marple

Montville - Wesley L. Marple, 91 years, of Montville, ME, passed away Monday October 7, 2019, at Waldo County General Hospital. He was born May 9, 1928 in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of the late Eldon and the late Edna (Luce) Marple and the late step-mother Mary C. (Conklin) Marple. Wesley graduated from University of Maine at Orono. He served in the Army in South Korea in Operation Blacklist Forty from 1946-1948. He was a self employed in construction, forestry, in Maine, South Carolina, North Carolina, Indiana, and Wasington State as well as being mapper for the government geological survey. Wesley was a member of note for 69 years of the Mason's and a member of the Eastern Star. He is predeceased by his son, Glenn W. Marple. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Marple, whom he married June 12, 1988; his children Brice A. Marple of Liberty, James W. Marple and wife Linda of Liberty, Thomas E. Marple and wife Dorothy of Vernon, Ct; step-children George W. Pierce and partner Deb of Massachusetts and Tiffany S. McIntire and husband Matthew of Montville; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Laura "Nan" Westerfield of California, Ellen Bilbrey of Arizona, and Andrea Wittwer of Wisconsin; brother James H. Marple of California. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on October 16, 2019 at Maine Veterans Cemetery 136 Mt. Vernon Road Augusta, Me.
