Obituary of Harry D. Langis

Harry Daniel Langis, 65, passed away peacefully on June 4 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  Born on May 30, 1961, Harry was raised in Palermo, Maine, where he spent his childhood enjoying the outdoors and developing the strong work ethic that would define his life. He was the son of the late Robert Langis and Doris "Minnie" Studley Langis Dodge.

Harry graduated from Erskine Academy and, shortly after graduation, ventured west to Wyoming, where he worked in the oil fields for a time.  Eventually, he returned home to Maine, where he built a career working in various trades, primarily as a carpenter. His skill, dedication, and craftsmanship earned him the respect of many throughout the years. His final position was as a Master Carpenter for the State of Maine, a role he took great pride in.

Harry was an avid outdoorsman whose greatest joys in life were hunting and fishing. Whether spending time in the woods, on the water, or sharing stories of past adventures, he found peace and happiness in nature. The outdoors was not simply a hobby—it was a way of life that brought him lasting fulfillment and many treasured memories.

He is survived by his brother, Dennis Langis, and wife Debra of Palermo; his nephew and nieces, Justin, Lariah, and Ashley, along with extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. In addition to his parents, Harry was predeceased by many loved ones who welcomed him home.

Harry will be remembered for his quiet strength, hardworking nature, craftsmanship, and deep appreciation for the outdoors. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at 12:00p.m. at Harry's home on Meadow Brook Lane in Windsor, Maine. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate a life well-lived.

Though he is gone from our sight, Harry's spirit will forever remain in the woods he loved, the waters he fished, and the memories he leaves behind.
