Robert L. DeWalt of Rockland, Maine, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10th, 2026.  Born on May 8, 1939, Robert will be remembered for his faith, service, tenacity and dedication to those he loved.  He is predeceased by his wife, Myrtle (Mitzie) DeWalt and his brother, Dennis DeWalt. 

He is survived by his children, Robert DeWalt and wife, Marie Bawden, Douglas DeWalt, Suzanne Markey and husband, Craig, and Daniel DeWalt and wife, Jennifer DeWalt, adopted daughter, Brenda Burch; his brother, Sam DeWalt and sister, Robin Sawyer; his grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21st, at Harbor Light Church located at 78 Main Street, in Rockland, Maine.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
