Malerie Joanne Clements Obituary

It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we announce the unexpected passing of Malerie Joanne Clements, who passed away at home on April 30th.

Malerie was a deeply loved daughter, niece, sister, aunt, cousin, granddaughter and friend—but to those closest to her, she was so much more. She was the kind of soul you don’t come across twice. The kindest, purest heart, who loved with everything she had and never held back.

Malerie shared a bond with her father that was truly unbreakable. He wasn’t just her dad—he was her best friend, her safe place, her constant. Their Friday nights spent together playing pool and poker were more than just a routine—they were their time, filled with laughter, comfort, and a love that ran so deep it could be felt by anyone around them. She cherished those moments more than anything, and the love she had for her dad was one of the purest parts of who she was.

She also loved playing cribbage and found joy in the simple things, especially when it meant being surrounded by the people she loved most.

And above everything else—Malerie loved her family. Fiercely. Unconditionally.

She had a one-of-a-kind bond with her cousin Haley, who was not only family, but her best friend—her person. Haley and Malerie were inseparable, side by side through everything life threw at them. The kind of friendship people spend a lifetime searching for—the kind that never fades, even now.

Malerie also held a special place in her heart for Haley’s children—Jalynn, Ava, and baby Jackson—who she loved deeply. She adored them in a way only she could, with a gentle, genuine love that made them feel safe, seen, and so incredibly special.

And if you knew Malerie, you knew about Rosie—her pride and joy. She was always talking about her dog, always sharing stories, always smiling when Rosie was brought up. Their connection was something special, a bond full of comfort, loyalty, and unconditional love that meant so much to her.

Malerie also had her love for music, it was her therapy and her escape. If you saw mal you saw her with usually her speaker, or her phone playing all the songs she related with.

Her loss has left a silence that feels too big, too heavy, too unfair. There are no words that can truly capture the pain of losing someone like Malerie—but there will never be a day she isn’t missed, talked about, or carried in the hearts of those who loved her.

She was love. She was light. And she will never, ever be forgotten.

Rest easy, Malerie. Watch over us. We love you more than words will ever be able to say.

She is predeceased by; Her great grandparents, Marie and Alex Opdahl, grandfather Stephen Clements Sr. Grandmother, Rhodena Sullivan
