Arthur Lewis Henderson

Belfast - Arthur Lewis Henderson, lovingly known as “Chief,” passed away peacefully at home on April 10, 2026, with his loving wife by his side, after a short but hard-fought battle with cancer.

Art was born on August 25, 1956, to Marie Henderson. He is survived by his wife and best friend of more than 30 years, Lorianne Henderson; his children, Lucas Henderson and Johanna Henderson; and his stepchildren, Troy Sidelinger and his partner Leeann Mason, and Trisha Donnarumma and her husband Christopher Donnarumma. He also leaves behind the grandchildren who brought him so much pride and laughter: Nicholas Sidelinger, Cali Donnarumma, Anthony Donnarumma, Morgan Sidelinger, Haley Beckim, Sadie Henderson, Jaxon Sidelinger, and Ember Sidelinger.

Art was very much loved by his brothers and sisters, both those who remain with us and those who have passed, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members near and far.

About 20 years ago, Lori and Art moved to Belfast and quickly fell in love with the town and the life they built there together. After retiring, Art settled into the simple things he loved most—sitting out on the porch, tinkering away on little creative projects, or spending time in his “man cave” with three different soccer games somehow playing at once, music filling the room, and an old cartoon or sitcom on in the background. He never stopped loving the things that made him laugh, and his unmistakable giggle—especially when cracking up at the same joke for the hundredth time—became one of the sounds his family will miss most.

Art was eclectic, creative, funny, and completely himself in the best possible way. He had a way of making people feel instantly comfortable. To him, everyone was either “sweetie” or “handsome,” and somehow, he made both sound genuine every single time. He carried a bright, playful energy that made ordinary moments feel lighter.

Art was deeply loved, and his absence leaves a space that cannot be filled. His family finds comfort in imagining him somewhere peaceful, music playing, laughing at an old sitcom, and watching over all of us. He will truly be missed.  A celebration will be held at a later time.
