William Elmer Harrington Obituary

William E. Harrington Sr. passed away leaving behind a life defined by faith, service, craftsmanship, and devotion to family. William was a devoted to the church whose faith guided how he lived his life. He believed strongly in responsibility, honesty, and honoring commitments, and he carried those values throughout his life.

He was a United States Army World War 2 veteran, having served his country with pride and discipline. His military service shaped his strong sense of duty and work ethic, qualities that remained with him long after his time in uniform.

He was also a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a Shriner, affiliations he held with seriousness and respect. Through these organizations, he embraced the principles of brotherhood, service, and charity, giving his time and support without seeking recognition.

William was married to Gloria J. Harrington, to whom he was a devoted and faithful husband. He was a loving father survived by his children William, Douglas, Janis, Jacqueline, Matthew, Jennifer, Steven, and Jessica, and a devoted stepfather to Peter and Anna. Family was central to his life, and he took his responsibilities as a husband, father, and stepfather seriously.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00pm on Monday April 6, 2026 in the East Northport Cemetery with full Military Honors.  Memories and condolenes may be shared on his tribute wall.
