John Henry Zlotkowski Jr., 81, of Islesboro, Maine, passed away on March 6, 2026. 

He was born on January 9, 1945, to John H. Zlotkowski Sr. and Alce Zlotkowski (Leach). He grew up in both Jersey City, New Jersey, and on Islesboro, Maine. 

John lived a full life, the majority of which was spent on Islesboro, where he built and ran his successful plumbing business for over 30 years. He had a passion for the ocean, lobstering, and clamming, and he always looked forward to time spent on the water. He was also an avid hunter. 

John loved winter skiing vacations and playing craps at the casinos. During the summer, he enjoyed putting his feet up and relaxing on weekends at his camp on Pitcher Pond. 

John will be remembered for his great stories, his sense of humor, and his hearty chuckle. He will also be remembered for his strong will and kind nature, as well as his remarkable luck in finding four-leaf clovers wherever he went and winning games of chance. 

He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Malcolm Zlotkowski. 

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Zlotkowski; his children, Jay Zlotkowski, Melanie Zlotkowski, and Timothy Zlotkowski; his sister, Catherine Kovach; and his grandchildren, Anna, Blake, Gaby, Cassandra, Alexander, and Natalie. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members. 

There will be two celebrations of life, one will be held on Islesboro at the Islesboro Sporting Club May 30th. The second will be held at Pitcher Pond in Lincolnville date to be announced later. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local animal shelter. 

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
