Carolyn P. Clark Obituary
Carolyn Mina Parker Clark was born July 28th, 1927 to Fredrick Pascal Parker and Ruby Luella Davis Parker. She was their only child. Carolyn sadly died at the age of 98 on February 11th, 2026 due to a stroke. When Carolyn was younger, her father and grandfather- Myron Fredrick Parker Sr.- owned the local barber shop in Searsport. At the age of only 16, Carolyn’s father died from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Her mother Ruby was the town of Searsport’s tax collector and later went on to be the town clerk for 40 years.
After graduating from Searsport High School in 1945- as Valedictorian- she worked at the Merrill bank in town. Even at the age of 98 she still remembered the combination to the bank vault!
Carolyn went on to marry Charles Junior Clark (Major USAF) on her 19th birthday July 18th, 1946. Charles worked at a local gas station, and the Armour Fertilizer Plant at the docks in Searsport before he was recalled to the USAF in 1952. He served as a pilot during WWII. This began the next 30 years of traveling the United States. From Louisianna, to Indiana, Alaska and even Nebraska. After Charles retired, they went on to be snowbirds, living in Stuart, Florida for 20 years.
Carolyn made many lifelong friends while her husband Charles served in the Air Force. Enid Mattison and Ruth Brooks in Alaska and Joan Gardner in Nebraska. Caroyln and Joan traveled the world together. They visited Greece, Europe, China, Italy, Austria, Germany, France, and Egypt. In Egypt they took a ferry across the Nile to see the Great Pyramids. When it was time to travel back across the Nile, they were told they had to take a different less stable ferry. Carolyn asked, “why can’t we take the original ferry?” They were told “the Secretary of Agriculture from the United States was going to take it across” Caroyln saw the Secretary and walked right up to him, introduced herself as a US citizen and asked if she could join him on his ferry! He said, “It would be my pleasure for you to join me.”
Carolyn and her husband Charles raised three children, Fred Parker Clark (Col USAF) who married Christine Vangreen. Beth Clark Lockhart who is still currently married to Wallace Lockhart, and resides in Searsport, ME and Charles Scott Clark, who is married to Maureen McKeever, and resides in Prescott, AZ. She has five grandchildren, David Clark (Cherie, Major USAF Retired) Monument CO, McKayla Howell (Col USAF Reserves) Denver CO, Thomas Clark (Nate Elwell) Pheonix AZ, Adam Lockhart (Melissa) Searsport ME, Kurt Lockhart (Mariah) Winterport ME, and seven great-grandchildren. Cora Lockhart, Aubrey Lockhart, Landon Lockhart, Griffin Clark, Calina Clark, Parker Howell, and Paxton Howell. Caroyln also had several very special cousins Judy Choate, Jan Hanson, Rhonda Altman and Rhoda Sutfin.
She was predeceased by her parents Fredrick and Ruby Parker, husband Charles J. Clark and her son Fred P. Clark.
Carolyn was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was kind, generous, patient, and always had the best advice. Anytime anyone came to visit they were always welcome at “Garnie’s house”.
At her request there will be no funeral. The family will gather at a later time this summer to celebrate her life.
