Our beloved mother Ursula M. LePage went to spend Christmas with Jesus this year. She passed away December 21, 2025 at the age of 84 finally free of the dementia that has been haunting her the last several years. Born February 28, 1941 in Riverside, NJ to Thomas J and Alice E (Gerety) Morrissey. She had 2 older brothers Thomas (Tommy) and John (Jack). She grew up in Burlington, NJ. She graduated from Mount Saint Mary’s Academy in 1959. She worked for “Ma Bell” in Burlington, NJ. One of her friends, Nancy Cranmer introduced Ursula to her cousin from Maine-Paul LePage and the two were married May 30, 1970. MaryAnne was born while they lived in NJ in 1971. In April 1973, the family of 3 moved to Maine just before Mark was born. Ursula worked for several years at Happy Jacks in Lewiston while living in Auburn. After her divorce in 1980 she returned to “Ma Bell” as a customer service representative in Lewiston, ME. Eventually the Lewiston office closed and she and her colleagues moved to the Portland office where she finally retired in the mid 1990’s.
In her retirement she worked at a temp agency processing payroll in Lewiston and eventually worked at the Thomas Insurance Company before retiring again around 2003. Ursula moved to Knox, ME in order to be near her grandchildren. She also came out of retirement again to work in the town office getting to know many town residents. Her grandchildren were her world! She loved being a Nana until Kevin could talk and said “you’re not a ‘nana” as that was what he called a banana, and he started calling her Nannie which was eventually shortened to “Nan”. She helped with MaryAnne and Lee’s sugarhouse business by watching the kids and helping at trade shows and Maine Maple Sunday Weekends.
Ursula loved the Maine coast. Weekend day trips to Boothbay Harbor, Bailey Island, Portland Headlight, and Freeport were common from late spring to the fall every summer. Lobster was usually the lunch entree on these trips! She just enjoyed watching people walking by while enjoying the sun and salt air. April and Christmas vacations were spent in NJ visiting family in south and north Jersey. She won a cruise during a promotion at work and that became her new favorite way to travel going on cruises with MaryAnn and Rich Ims and her brother and sister in law Jack & Ginny and niece Carol Morrissey visiting Bermuda and much of the Caribbean.
Ursula had a strong Catholic faith. She spent many years at Auburn, ME churches serving as a lector. When she moved to Knox and St Francis became her home parish she jumped right in as a lector serving until about 2020 when… well we all know what happened then. As dementia set in she needed extra care and lived in assisted living just a couple miles from Mark and his car business.
Ursula was predeceased by her parents, brothers, sister in law Virginia Morrissey, two special cousins (Mark) and (MaryAnn Ims-no question who we are named after), cousin-in-law, Nancy Cranmer, our dad, Paul LePage, brothers in law, Raymond, Daniel, and Ronnie. Godson/nephew, David LePage: nephew, Tom “Terrific” Morrissey, goddaughter/niece, Ginger Morrissey and great nephew Arte Jones.
She is survived by her children, MaryAnne (Lee) Kinney, and Mark LePage, and grandchildren Kevin and Theresa Kinney. Cousin Richard (Peg) Ims. Nieces and nephews Jack (Dot) Morrissey, Anne (Billy) Ecke, Bill (Kanlaya Sinsao) Morrissey, Joseph (Leilannie) Morrissey, Carol Morrissey, Debi (Bernard) Burgess, Carl LePage, Greg LePage, Rob (Tammie) LePage, Artie (Lisl) Jones, Kathy LePage, Ryan (Lezley) Jones, Christopher (Adrienne) LePage, Danielle Jones, Jenny LePage and Jim (Jenn) LePage. Many more great nieces and nephews, too numerous to count!
